GROUP SNOOZES

Are you a Scout leader?  Do you lead a youth group?  Do you want something fun for your class to do?  Our Snooze at the Zoo is a great event for all groups, big and small.

Who can attend a group Snooze?

We can customize a program for any group.  Girl scouts, cub/wolf/bear/webelo scouts, boy scouts, youth groups, school groups and more.

How many participants do I need to have?

There is no minimum number for our Group Snoozes.  If you have a small group, when you register for a date, the date will stay open for other groups to join you.  Or, if you know of another small group or two, you can all sign up together.   If you have 25 people or more, you may reserve a date exclusively for your group.  We can accomodate a maximum of 50 people.

How much do the Group Snoozes cost?

$35 per person; for every 5 paid scouts/children, you receive one free adult.

What dates are available?

We offer specific dates for the Group Snoozes, which are different from the Family Snooze dates.  They are not listed on the website because availability is constantly changing.  We currently offer these programs September through May.

How do I register my group?

In order to save a date, we must receive a 10% non-refundable deposit.  This deposit is based on the estimated final cost and will be deducted from the final payment.  This payment can be done over the phone with a credit card, through the mail by check, or in person with cash, check or credit card.  The date will not be saved until the payment has been received!

When is final payment due?

Detials of your program must be finalized one to two weeks prior to your date.  The program topic must be decided two weeks prior to your date.  If you do not decide a topic by then, we will pick one for you.  Final participation numbers and final payment is due one week prior to your date.

What will my group do during their Snooze?

All Snoozes include an animal program, animal encounters, games/activities/crafts, light evening snack, night hike, continental breakfast, behind-the-scenes tour, and the kids get to feed the penguins.  The topic of the animal program and activities depend on the topic of your date.  Some dates have set topics, but most topics are chosen by the group.  Scout groups can work on badges, pins, loops, etc.   Other topics include animal enrichment, nocturnal animals and backyard habitat.

For more information, or to reserve a date please call Monica Girard at (330) 375-2550 ext. 7224.
