NEW JELLYFISH EXHIBIT

NOW OPEN!

Explore the underwater world at your Akron Zoo. You can now come within inches of seven different species of vibrant and intriguing jellyfish.

Jellies, Jellies everywhere!

This new exhibit includes 10 aquariums of jellyfish, making it the largest collection of jellyfish in the state of Ohio. It is the zoo's first-ever saltwater exhibit and features: moon jellies, Japanese sea nettles, Pacific sea nettles, blue blubbers, crystal jellies, comb jellies and upside-down jellies.

One day they will grow up to be jellyfish

The exhibit also includes a jellylab where you can take a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to make the aquariums flow. You will also get to enjoy looking at polyps (baby jellyfish) before they become jellyfish and moon jellies that are only a couple of weeks old!

Look...and Touch!

Don't miss the touch tank and get to get up really close to starfish, sea urchins and crabs!

Jellies got rhythm! How about you?

After watching the jellies "dance," you can show off your moves. Come dance like a jellyfish while everyone watches on TV. Also in the interactive area, you can play the pipe organ and recreate the sounds of the sea, climb the underwater climbing wall and get creative at the art tables.
