Add a lemur to your troop or make a panda your pal by sponsoring an animal at the Akron Zoo. Anyone can "Care for a Critter" and help make a difference for wildlife. So take your pick - furry, feathered or scaly.

Don't worry about making room for a river otter or an alligator in your house because your "wild child" stays right here at the zoo. Caring has never been easier because we do the work. Our professional staff will provide all the cleaning, feeding and medical attention your critter needs. Your contribution helps the Akron Zoo build new homes for the animals, support conservation programs,  purchase necessary supplies and fund education exhibits.

With a $100 to $200 "Care for a Critter" sponsorship, you'll also receive two free guest passes to the zoo.

Share the Care
If you can't afford to sponsor a whole jaguar or Komodo dragon, then share the care by sponsoring any animal priced $50 or more by donating a minimum of $35. You'll receive a certificate of sponsorship, a photo and a fact sheet about your animal.

If there is a specific animal at the zoo you want to care for and it is not on the list, contact the Communication Department at 330-375-2550, ext. 7231.

Some animals may have more than one sponsor. All sponsored animals remain in the care of the Akron Zoo and no ownership rights are conferred. Because zoo animals are live creatures, they are subject to illness or death, or they may be moved from the zoo or taken off exhibit. If this happens, the remainder of your sponsorship will be transferred to another animal.
